CUA at BMES 2015

Dr. Raub and three students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering presented their research at the annual fall meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society. Santiago Correa (MS program), Ruby Huynh (PhD program), and Dominic Padova (UG program) presented posters at the conference in Tampa, Florida, October 7-11, 2015. The students, along with co-authors Rachel Garabedian (UG program) and Patrick Gibbons (UG program), submitted two abstracts that underwent a peer-review process. The posters were titled “Relating Organization and Morphology of Large Collagen Fibers to Optical Parameters from Quantitative Polarized Light Microscopy”, and “Relating Optical Retardance to Compressive Strain in Collagen Hydrogels”. Additionally, Ruby Huynh received a BMES Student Travel Award, and Santiago Correa received a BMES Innovation and Career Development Award, for travel to and registration at the conference.
